Network marketing systems abound on the worldwide web, each seeming to promise stratospheric riches practically over night. Of course, they are always very careful to not make such claims outright by only showcasing what appear to be case histories – all with some legal disclaimer such as “for illustration purposes only” or “past performance is no indication of future earnings” or “sample not representative of average yields.” Yes, it’s easy to make fun of network marketing systems, but the fact is that many people do make a nice bit of spare change, if not an entire living outright, from such systems or schemes. As long as they are legal and ethical, why not?
They are certainly legal, but the ethics do vary from case to case. Generally speaking, one can expect to work on a commission-only basis. From that one common denominator, a wide range of network marketing systems exist, most of which are just variations on one another but with many offering honest-to-goodness opportunities as well. The trick is separating the proverbial wheat from the proverbial chaff, and for this there exist some well-regarded forums devoted to network, also known as affiliate, marketing systems and schemes.
That’s right, “…and” schemes because some are simply more scheme than system. One should always be wary of those programs that require an initial purchase or other investment upfront. They may work, but generally speaking, those that work do not need their affiliates to shell out their own money while many exist for the sole purpose of making money off their affiliates! Always conduct the most thorough research before signing on, especially when it involves parting with some money.
Being a salesman or woman is tough, especially when doing cold calls and visits. Luckily, the internet makes it much easier to make some money as an affiliate, though getting people to part with their money will always be difficult.
